BECOME A MASTER GARDENER IN 2012!

NOTE: The 2012 class has met its maximum enrollment. Please put a note on your calendar to enroll in 2013’s class!

Rutherford County Master Gardeners are now accepting applications for the 2012 Training Class. The training is open to anyone with an interest in horticulture, a desire to develop and/or improve their horticultural skills, and a willingness to help others do the same. 

Training will be held at the Rutherford County Extension Office on Tuesday evenings from 9:00AM to 12:00PM. Classes begin Jan. 10 and ending April 20, 2012(Graduation).

Cost of the 14 week program is $115.00. Additional family members may attend for $65.00 per person (if sharing handbook). Registration fees, once paid, are non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to: Rutherford County Extension.
Training will cover a variety of topics including vegetable gardening, basic botany, tree and small fruits, lawn grasses, control of insect, disease and weed pests. Specialized instruction dealing with soils, equipment, backyard wildlife management, landscape design, specialty gardening and composting are also included.
